Geek
From Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia.
"There are many varieties of geek."
A person with a devotion to something in a way that
places him or her
outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or
subject of their interest.
I like to do
Hardware & Data Recovery of
various parts and
pieces along with geeky
house modifications
in our little yellow
house in Columbia, MO. I work for
L.A.P.S. in the College of
Education at the
University of
Missouri, Columbia.
LINUX has the ability
to turn those rusty computers in your closet into useful number
crunching, mp3 playin, servers. These pages were created using Composer
from
Mozilla 1.5 on a
Gentoo Linux box. Want to give
linux a try and have a computer that can boot from CD, take a look at
Knoppix. Need to play your
favorite DVD take a look at
mplayer
or if you want to stream your favorite movie into another room in the
house try
VLC. And all
this is free if you are willing to take some time to learn a different
OS.

Every good geek needs a
Robot...
But,
What to name it? Should it be a 2 cycle, all electric, and what
the heck is its purpose... Treads, legs, tires, arms?
Hate to say it but, right now it is nothing more than a several lines
of
C source code (and an
example.c)
and a few LEDs....
